|
The units and
the rooms are serviced daily between 10.00am and 2.00pm with a complete

anticipated that where possible guests program their activities for

servicing by your host. Extra towels, pillows, blankets,
etc, can always be obtained from your hosts. Your assistance in
notifying your hosts of any maintenance items is always appreciated.

cleaning products and provides complimentary soaps/shampoo/conditioner
and other usual toiletries. See Environmental Responsiveness section
below. |
Catering.
|
Part of the
unique experience of a home stay is the interaction with your host, in
addition to some activities, the avenue for this is meal times,
particularly dinner and possibly breakfast. The units have their own
dining tables and seating for 4, bar fridge's and microwaves, but no
cooking facilities. Cooking in the rooms or the units is not allowed.
Your host can arrange to have meals delivered to your room for
enjoyment on the decks and this is particularly popular for continental
breakfasts. Cooked breakfasts are provided in the main house or to the
units by prior arrangement. Lunches are generally the guests own care
but with prior notice packed lunches or catered lunches can be provided
by your hosts. There will be an additional charge for any catering
excluding continental breakfast which is included in the tariff.
Dinners are generally enjoyed either with your host or possibly at a
restaurant in Picton. See menus
for host provided meal details. |
Credit Cards.
|
Final accounts
may be paid by cash in New Zealand dollars, Visa or MasterCard.
Regrettably it is not possible for a small business to accept all types
of credit cards and with special arrangements payments can be made by
travelers cheque or local cheque with suitable identification. |
Laundry Facilities.
|
The laundry
complete with washing machine, drier, ironing board, iron and tub
facilities is available behind the home stay office by arrangement with
your host. Guests may undertake their own laundry or your host can
help. Your host does not
provide laundry services. Dry cleaning is available in Picton. |
Heating.
|
Heating for the
units and the rooms in the winter being the only time it is generally
required is by way of electric oil filled column heaters which have
thermostat and timer controls. Your host will have set these to their
expectations of what will make the environmental suitable for guests.
If you require assistance please contact your host. Given the large
sliding doors and outside living available in the units and rooms air
conditioning is not appropriate or required as the proximity to the sea
moderates the temperature extremes which in New Zealand are mild in
comparison with other parts of the world. ( Typical extremes would be
in the winter a low of 7 degrees centigrade to a peak of 26 at mid day
or thereabouts in summer). |
Maps & Tourist
Information.
|
Your host will
have available a number of maps, brochures, etc, on activities and

arrangement. |

supply of sun screen is carried in the summer months (October to May)
along with suitable hats and glasses. You may also wish to purchase
some insect repellent for the odd local pesky sandfly, which typically
frequent dusk periods. Your host has lamps that can be light to keep
these pesky natives at bay. |

purchased in Picton. If you would like copies please indicate
so on arrival as they need to be picked up from Picton. The papers may

people at the home stay but during the summer your assistance in
conserving water is appreciated. Particularly, with respect to the
washing of towels, bathrobes and other discretionary items. |
Environmental
Responsiveness
|
The home stay
uses an on site septic tank for the processing of all waste water and
as such uses natural based products in preference to chemically based
cleaners etc to avoid the release and aggregation of hard to break down
residues in the environment. Guests assistance in assisting with this
would be appreciated. Catalogues on the environmentally friendly
products used at the home stay are available from your hosts. |
